  8. A full-featured graphic file database program, CompuLog allows
  9. you to catalog all the graphic files on your hard, floppy and
  10. CD-ROM disks into a single searchable database. By assigning one-
  11. letter classification codes and keywords that describe the
  12. subject matter, you can select and sort images into groups of
  13. similar pictures. Images may be viewed by selecting from a screen
  14. full of image "thumbnails". A flexible keyword selection routine
  15. supports wildcards, so that CAT* selects CAT, CATS, CATAMARAN and
  16. CATAPULT, while *CAT selects BOBCAT and *CAT* finds WILDCATS. The
  17. selected database records may be sorted, ascending or descending,
  18. by file name, size, date, image resolution or colors.

  20. Any selection of images can be turned into a "viewer", which
  21. allows others (perhaps the kids), to view only the pictures that
  22. you specify, and locks out any changes to your master database.

  24. CompuLog also creates a stand-alone "index" program, providing
  25. thumbnail images and a viewer for all graphics on a particular
  26. disk.

  28. A "sampler" feature creates a multi-image GIF file of any number
  29. of graphics. By using the GIF89a capabilites, the "sampler" GIF
  30. contains not only the thumbnail images and file name, but
  31. comments containing file size, date and format plus image
  32. resolution and colors. If there are more images than will fit on
  33. a single screen, the GIF issues a "wait for keypress or mouse
  34. click" before proceeding.

  36. Program Limitations: The shareware version database is limited to
  37. 250 records. The index function is available in the registered
  38. version, only.
